Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante reportedly wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, despite interest from Inter Milan.
According to Telefoot, Inter boss and former Blues manager Antonio Conte is keen to be reunited with the French midfielder. But the ex-Leicester ace is said to be happy at Chelsea, while the London club also unwilling to part ways with the 29-year-old
Chelsea’s young midfielder Conor Gallagher is set to leave the club in another loan deal this summer, with Leeds United and West Brom interested.
The 20-year-old split his time last season between loan spells at Charlton and Swansea, making a combined 47 appearances in the Championship, scoring six goals.
And it appears the second tier’s top-two were impressed with what they saw, and are now battling it out for his signature.
Crystal Palace were thought to be leading the chase for Gallagher, but are now prioritising his Blues team-mate Michy Batshuayi, according to the Daily Mail.
Premier League rules state a club cannot have two loans from the same club, leaving Gallagher’s potential move to Selhurst Park scuppered.
Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero, with Chelsea among the club’s interested.
The Red Devils are willing to sell the 33-year-old after Dean Henderson signed a new contract at Old Trafford, moving Romero to third in the GK pecking order.
The glovesman is widely considered one of the best No.2s in the Premier League, and Sky Sports News claim Chelsea and Aston Villa are keen.
However, neither club has apparently firmed up their interest.
Romero has been put up for sale having entered the final 12 months of his contract, so could be snapped up for a bargain price.
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is close to joining Everton on a season-long loan.
Tomori initially enjoyed an impressive breakthrough spell last season, having been drafted straight into the first-team following Frank Lampard’s appointment following his spell under the Blues legend at Derby.
But the 22-year-old didn’t play a single minute since the restart, with his last appearance coming in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Feb. 29.
And competition for places at centre-back has since increased with the arrivals of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr this summer.
Tomori signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge in December and is seen as a bright prospect for the future, but the club want him to gain more experience at the top level.
The likes of French club Rennes and Newcastle have registered an interest, but according to ESPN Everton are in pole position, with talks at an advanced stage.
And it appears Chelsea’s record signing Kai Havertz may take advantage Tomori’s exit to pinch his shirt number, with the German wonderkid reportedly after the 29 jersey.
Liverpool are set to make even more money from Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho now that Barcelona’s plan for the Brazilian has emerged.
The Reds sold Coutinho to Barcelona back in 2018, receiving £106million up front and the promise of a further £36m in add-ons.
The £36m was to be paid in installments every time Coutinho reached a milestone at Barca, like making 25 appearances or helping the club qualify for the Champions League.
Liverpool have already received the vast majority of this transfer fee, but are still owed a further £4.4m from Barcelona.
Coutinho is just 15 Barca appearances away from triggering the final bonus, but up until now it wasn’t clear if he ever would.
But the Brazilian’s agent Kia Joorabchian told talkSPORT his client would remain in Catalonia.
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy
Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount missed out on the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
The Blues nominees were beaten by Liverpool’s accomplished full-back Alexander-Arnold.
“That first taste of success and being able to lift trophies, you never get over that, and the disappointments that come along the way too feed that hunger as well,” said Alexander-Arnold.
“So it’s probably a perfect blend of wanting to feel the success and not wanting to feel that disappointment that we’ve felt in the past.
“And I think as a team and individually the mentality is to keep going and to keep striving forward, because we’re not done yet.”
Chelsea star Kai Havertz has asked to take Fikayo Tomori’s No 29 shirt for the upcoming Premier League season as the defender prepares to move to Everton on loan.
Havertz wore the No 29 when he was at Bayer Leverkusen, and there was speculation over what shirt he would take upon his arrival at Chelsea.
The No 10 shirt is available after Willian’s departure from the club earlier this summer.
But that looks set to go to Christian Pulisic, who wore the No 22 last season.
Havertz, according to The Athletic’s Simon Johnson, has instead asked for Tomori’s No 29 jersey.
