How Barcelona will possibly lineup against PSG in today’s Champions League match

As a tough last-16 awaits, fans all over the world are beginning to ask how will Barcelona lineup against PSG tonight?, in my friend’s words “How Barcelona can possible lineup against PSG in today’s Champions League match”

After a heavy and massive win over Alaves to extend their unbeaten streak in la liga, Barcelona are back in Champions League action today which is the is possibly their biggest game of the season so far as last season’s runners-up Paris Saint-Germain will visit Camp Nou for the first leg of their last 16 tie.

This game is will be intriguing and a back memories of that comeback in 2017 when Barca pulled off one of the greatest results in the competition’s history.

In as much as Barca are looking up for more joy against the French Champions, they will be playing without some key players.

Let’s look at how they might line up.

Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Dembélé, Messi, Griezmann

PSG (4-2-3-1): Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Paredes, Gueye; Sarabia, Verratti, Mbappé; Icardi

Barca’s selection problems lies in defense were Ronald Koeman faces a big delimma over who to select. It’s likely the Dutchman will not be bringing up Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo.

This means Oscar Mingueza could shift over to center-back and partner either Samuel Umtiti or Clement Lenglet.

It believe Sergino Dest should be fit enough to start after his comeback at the weekend as a late substitute, while Jordi Alba will return at left-back after getting a breather against Alaves.

Barca’s midfield looks fairly easy to predict, unless Koeman decides to spring a surprise with his team selection.

Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Pedri have emerged as the Dutchman’s preferred trio and look the favorites to start.

Apart from any late fitness problems it looks like Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann will be in front against PSG tonight.

Dembele was rested at the weekend against Alaves, only playing the last nine minutes, so should be fresh and firing for the visit of the French champions.

My Prediction

I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this match. It could be an embarrassing night for Barça in Europe again or they could come out and stun PSG with a couple of early goals and then protect their lead for the rest of the game. Because I’m an optimist, I’ll bet on the second outcome: 2-1 to the good guys.
